IRACS Transmitters

There are two distinct types of IRACS Transmitter:

IRACS Keyfob Transmitter
IRACS High Power Transmitter

Both function in the same way, but are intended for different users.

KeyfobIRACS Keyfob Transmitter

The Keyfob is small enough to fit easily in the pocket and can hold conventional keys.
The small size limits the transmit power and hence the range of operation, so this unit is most suited to pedestrians or cyclists. A range of 10 to 15m is normal.
The standard Keyfob has a single button that will give a 'burst' of transmitted data for at least 1s, extending for as long as the button is pressed.
A small red LED shows when the Transmitter is operating. If the battery is becoming flat, the LED will stop showing before the unit stops functioning,  indicating that the easily-obtainable alkaline battery needs changing.

High PowerHigh Power IRACS Transmitter

The High Power unit is larger than the Keyfob, making it a bit large for a pocket.
It is specifically useful from within vehicles, where the extra power level helps to give extra range, even through vehicle windscreens. The larger battery and extra Infra-red transmitter LEDs give a range of 20 to 30m.
Like the Keyfob, the High Power IRACS Transmitter has an indicator red LED that lights when the unit is transmitting if the battery condition is good. If this LED fails to light, it indicates that the easily-obtainable alkaline battery needs replacing.

IRACS can support up to 999 unique transmitters with each Controller.

A Controller is also unique to a specific installation.

The full identity of each Transmitter is permanently stored within it. When it is used, this identity permits the IRACS controller to determine whether this specific Transmitter is allowed to operate the equipment.

With each transmitter, we supply a record sheet that bears the essential information of System Code and Transmitter Number, etc, as well as having space for you to record other data.
